Comparing Kundera and Khaled

Comparing and Contrasting Works by Kundera and Khaled Hosseini The unbearable lightness of organism was published in Paris in 1984 by Czech author Milan Kundera. The novel is a mix of genre-defying mix of historical fiction, retire stories, philosophy, and experimentation with narrative technique. Set mostly in Prague in the late 1960s, the novel focuses on the love lives of four Czech intellectuals as they struggle with relationships, sex, politics, and the military occupation of their country. The narrator frequently interrupts the story to dismantle his take in characters and discuss the fictional plotline in the context of the novels central philosophy the dichotomy between lightness and weight. On the turnabout of The Kite Runner, the book was published in New York in 2003 by Afghanistan author Khaled Hosseini. The novel is a work of post- modern literature presentment the story of how the author grew up and the relationship he had with unmatched of his retainer boys. How ever the equality here is the Kite Runner is also compose about a beat of war for its country while vocalizing the story of the two boys. The author Kundera is unique narrative by presenting himself in the one-third person, suggesting t chapeau he is a character in the story. But he soon confesses to be the author, non the spectator of the fictional tales. He in truth proceeds to comment on the characters his own fictional creations and analyze his own novel for us. What he trying to do which we cannot do in trulyly life is disrupts the linearity of time by cogent a non-chronological narrative. He achieves this by repeating the same scenes a second or third time. The novel explores the human struggle to give our lives weight in spite of its obligatory and unbearable lightness. The novel itself is the narrators attempt at doing salutary that for himself. Contrary to Khaled is writing is Classical and he speaks as the author telling a story. He also allows the character them selves to define who they atomic number 18. He does not disrupt the time of telling a chronological narrative. He allows the characters to looking at the actually weight of their lives like real life. There is a summons in Kundera book novelistic to you, and I am willing to agree, but unaccompanied on condition that you refrain from reading such notions as fictive, fabricated, and sham to life into the word novelistic. Because human lives are composed in scarce such a fashion. (Kundera, The unendurable Lightness Of Being) both authors are similar in that even though Kundera uses fictional characters and Khaled exploitation real characters. Kundera is byword it is his way of using fictional novel and fictional characters to explore real ideas. Just because my characters are fake, he seems to be saying, doesnt mean that they arent a completely accurate reflection of real life. His novel may be intricately structure and full of artistry but so is life. The novels are several (predicate) when it comes to the plot.Khaled, follows a typical plotline. Khaled uses his characters to serves as the orgasm as a whole in the story. The events are placed in chronological order. Kundera, on the other hand no typical plotline, the novel features some(prenominal) different, interwoven, plotlines. If you identify a climactic situation for one character in one plotline, it doesnt necessarily serve as a climax for the plot as a whole. The reason the same events are narrated to a gravider extent than once from different characters points of view. You cant break this story into rigorously plot-driven stages. The bowler hat was a motif in the musical firearm that was Sabinas life. It return again and again, each time with a different meaning, and all the meanings flowed through the hat like water. You cant shout twice into the same river (Kundera, Milan) Sabina was touched by the sight of the bowler hat in a Zurich hotel and made love almost in weeping was that its bl ack presence was not merely a reminder of their love games but also a memento of Sabinas father and of her grandfather, who lived in a century without airplanes and cars. The bowler hat carries weight primarily because it has relapsered. This is scarcely why motifs give meaning to an individuals life because they recur over and over again. This is how we are able to give our lives meaning despite the fact that our life occurs only once. The kite was a motif in Amirs life. It returns season after season and each time with different meaning. All the meanings flowed like the quotation mark mention above. Amirs longed for the kite runner contest because it was a chance for him to bond and catch up with his father proud of him. The kite recurs over and over every year. This kite running gave him the chance to make his father finally proud of him when he won the contest that last year before war and things potpourri between him and Hassan. Many years later the kite comes back to helpe r him to reach his nephew. This like Sabina gave his life meaning despite the fact he lives only once. Both books raise betrayal from one character to the other. In the Kite Runner Amir betrays Hassan on more than one motive we see it when he was raped by Assef and the other boys. We see it when he places the money and some gifts under his pillow and tries to convince his father that he stole the items.Tomas betrays Tereza by making all his sexual life to so many women, he makes he and Terezas private life public. He violates her privacy. Tereza reads Tomass letters. Sabina betrays Tomas when she takes his sock and hides it so he will go main office with one sock short. This made Tomas realize Sabina resents his love for Tereza as more than as Tereza resents his lust for Sabina. In the book by Khaled there is a quote For you a thousand times over (Hosseini) Hassan used this quote to show his devotion to Amir and that there was nothing he would not do for his friend and master, yet unknowingly to him also his brother. His thousand times over was shown when he went after the kite for Amir and it cost him being raped and shamed. At the end of the story you have Amir using the same quote as he and Hassans son Sohrab are flying the kite and he noticed a slight gesticulate and smile come across his face. He knew there was no great big change but like spring when it comes it melts the snow one flake at a time he thought he might have just witnessed the first flake melting.Just like Hassan Tereza would show Tomas For you a thousand times over (Kundera) her devotion and love for him. even off though he cheated on her many times over she stayed with him. She believed he was her soul mate that was why she went to Prague to offer up her life to Tomas. Tomas himself was close-fitting to Tereza in that he would not let anyone possess a limited area which he might call poetic memory and which records everything that charms or touches us, that makes our lives beautifu l.Since meeting Tereza he did not allow a woman to set forth the slightest impression on that part of his brain. The Charmer

The Charmer by Budge Wil parole is a short bill that displays the important of the role of family circulating through a main example named Zack. Just as any family, the parent has an important role that is to fill out, discharge and care for their pincerren but Zacks failure was affected by these factors in his family. The love, amnesty and lack of discipline from all family members create Zacks childishness character and his adulthood down fall. First of all, growing up as a happy and popular young man, Zack creates himself the prefect reputation with lots of room for love and s drawing from his mother and two sisters. They love him so some(prenominal) and show this love by organism at his every beckoning. match to Winnifred, I was Zacharys willing slave. Slavery, in fact, was in vogue in our house. (Wilson, 102), Zack is overwhelmed with love and good deeds sent in his direction. He takes utility of these kind gestures and never really appreciates what his family has do ne for him. Besides that, the family in like manner gives him so much love barely because he was the only son, the only brother, the oldest child in the family (103).He is spoiled by such irrational blind love, and that leads him to being a selfish and irresponsible person. That is why he starts to a support a sign of a real evil (103) when he is smooth young. In opposite, if his parent considers their love to his sisters, he would have learnt how to love and share responsibilities. Secondly, Zacks bad behaviours also develop from his parents forgiveness. He dares to eat the cake that his mom makes for the church bazaar and, he uses just some flattery words to fool his mom into forgiveness Go ahead. Have another piece. You certainly are the limit (102). He is taught that he can do something knowing he should not and stand a very good chance getting forth with it. Zack makes mistakes but gets away without punishment or a good lesson. His down fall continues with lies, larceny money, smoking, drinking, smashing the familys car, dumping his Dads toolbox, etc. , during his adolescent fester. He even takes the family car when they need to go see Lizzie on her dead bed, but Mom forgave him everything because hes sensitive, hes taking it hard, and he cant face what ahead for us. (104). His mother thinks that letting her son run free is good for him but in reality just makes him worst. His mother thinks that he is suffering but actually he does not care for any one other than himself. Wrongfully forgiveness is a counteraction that also affect to Zacks failure. At the age of twenty-four, he is still living at home, looses his job one afterwards another, and plunges himself into drinking and gambling. Finally, the lack of discipline in the family, especially from Zacks produce, is also a key factor to Zacks debouching. His father makes mistake of not saying or doing anything virtually his disagreement with the way Zack is treated, the bad behaviours Zack enco untered. Winnifred describes that fifty-fifty Dad took a long clip to wake up and he would just will the room and go out to his work send packing and sit and rock and rock in that old chair of his (103). The father is the male role model in a family. He knows about Zacks problem, he knows about Zacks bad behaviours, but why he does not act until its too late? Without discipline, Zack never learns from his mistake.Besides that, Zacks mother also lacks in parental and discipline. Every time Zack acts as prodigal son, he always left Mom in tatters (103). This caption shows soften in his mothers heart that makes she pull up stakes about the role of a parent when her son makes mistake. She is afraid her son would think bad of her, maybe even hate her if she applies discipline on him. When his Dad gives him two choices stay with discipline or leave Zack chooses to leave the family and end up destroying his life in gambling and drinking. In a family, love and forgiveness and discipline is really necessary present and being utilise reasonable. Excessive love will become blind love. The parent sometimes has to put their love aside, and do what is best for their child. Forgiveness is necessary but if a parent forgives too easily, the child will take reinforcement of his rights. Although, with that comes discipline, less suffering will follow. A family is the foundation of a connection and family really affects to the success or failure of each person in life. Hopefully through this story, readers will get a lesson about how to stimulate their children properly.

Nonetheless, numerous of the characters constantly stcarpetgle to keep up with these responsibilities because of the difficulties in keeping their personal and professional lives apart.Of this group of sawboness, Greys Anatomy mainly revolves its plotl ine rough the main character and protagonist Meredith Grey who is initi exclusivelyy introduced as a young intern who is consistently expected to live up to her mystifys legacy. The intend as well as introduces Isobel St neverthelesss, Derek Shepard, Preston Burke, her perplex Ellis Grey and gentlemany of the other doctors that Meredith works with. Ellis Grey, who was a world-renowned surgeon, never believed that Meredith had the capability of organism good copious to succeed as a surgeon.Trying to deviate away from only being known as Ellis Greys daughter, Meredith, through verboten the serial publication, continues to shape her strengths and weaknesses as she proves to herself and everyone else that she can ultimately become an even greater surgeon than her mother was. Greys Anatomy is truly an inspiring television receiver drama that serves as a positive influence among its viewers. By illustrating the realities of sprightliness, this make motivates others to cling ont o hope in times of desperation, to see mistakes as a part of biography, to liberate and deflect, and lastly to deal with lifes unlooked-for surprises.Greys Anatomy has a positive influence among its viewers because it fundamentally portrays that anybody can get through their hardships with the right amount of hope. Dr. Isobel Stevens in the sequence A Change Is Gonna Come states, Its not childish to h sometime(a) on to hope. Its actually hard, very, very, hard. In the give another one of Merediths coworkers, Dr. Isobel Stevens, too known as Izzie, represents one of the biggest believers of hope on Greys Anatomy. After she discovers that shes diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic melanoma, which is a common earn of skin cancer, Izzie switches from being a doctor at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital to being a patient with only a 5% chance of surviving with her rail. However, knowing that her survival rate was slim, Izzie worked up the courage to ask Dr. Derek Shepard, head of ne urosurgery, to operate on her tumor and in the end her surgery was a success.Another example of how hope is seen in this utter is when Meredith Grey is accidently pushed off the ledge into the ocean and struggles to reach the surface of the body of water yet tries to drown at the same time. Merediths mother, Ellis Grey quotes in the episode Some Kind of Miracle, I raised you to be an over-the-top human being, imagine my disappointment when I wake up later on 5 years and discover that youre no more than ordinary. With her mothers harsh words continually repeating in her head, Meredith initially gives up and loses hope. While flat lining in the hospital, Meredith wakes up in her afterlife and discovers that her mother only called her ordinary so that she would always try to be the best. Greys Anatomy displays that no matter how hard we try to avoid them, mistakes are simply just a part of life. We pass on to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep todays possibility under tomorrows rug until we cant anymore.Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering And that even the biggest failure, even the worst closely intractable mistake, beats the hell out of not trying (Meredith Grey in If Tomorrow Never Comes). Greys Anatomy also teaches a valuable lesson to forgive and forget the people who have done us wrong. In some episodes, specifically The Heart of the Matter, we can see not only lese majesty among friends but also amon g family however, the show portrays that in the end, wrongdoings are ultimately forgiven.Merediths relationship with her gravel, Thatcher Grey, was torn apart when he walked out of her life when she was 5 years old. Having no respect for her, he slaps Meredith in front of her coworkers because of a complication in surgery that led to the death of her stepmother. Only appear to come back for medical needs, Thatcher one day comes to the hospital implore Meredith to donate a portion of her liver to him because his alcoholism makes him unable to be put on the donor list. The show ultimately shows that having the strength to forgive people who have done us wrong and forget the knightly is one of the realities in life that we must face. Meredith eventually agrees to help her father out and essentially releases all the grudges that she had. Forgive and forgetWhen someone hurts us, we requirement to hurt them back. When someone wrongs use we want to be right. Without forgiveness old sco res are never settled, old wounds never heal and the most we can hope for is that one day well be lucky becoming to forget (Meredith Grey).Last but not least, Greys Anatomy professes that life has a way of steering us in directions that we dont want to take, but the only way to react to lifes unexpected surprises is to deal with them. In the episode Deny, Deny, Deny, Meredith Grey quotes, sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting us in the ass. The whole show portrays a message that the most wry and unforeseen situations can happen to just about anybody. Ellis Greys life, along with everybodys lives, was altered when they found out that the worlds most renowned surgeon had Alzheimers and could no longer dole out her medical knowledge.Furthermore, after being shot in his arm, Dr. Preston Burke, known as the countries most prestigious cardiothoracic surgeon, discovered that his injury caused a exit tremor, which causes his hand to shake thus making him unsteady to per form surgery. In the end, his condition led him to take an absence of leave from being a doctor and ultimately his life steered onto a different path. Bones tumble. Organs burst. form tears. We can sew the flesh, repair the damage, and ease the pain. But when life breaks down, when we break down, theres no science, no hard and fast rules. We just have to feel our way through. Meredith Grey mentions in the episode Here Comes the Flood, that life can throw anything at us and the only way to survive through it is to deal with it. All in all, Greys Anatomy serves as a positive impact on society in which it teaches us about the realities of life. This inspiring show portrays that having enough hope and corporate trust will help us survive during tough times and it also motivates viewers to view mistakes as lessons to be learned. Through all the hardships of life, the show also demonstrates the importance of forgiveness and to never to give up no matter what direction life takes us.Gre ys Anatomy illustrates the truths of life by implying that we shouldnt always expect happy endings and easy pathways because the people that pull through through the toughest struggles are the ones who are the happiest. ALI EMBROIDERY MILLS (PVT. )LTD Hamedi Embroidery Mills (Pvt. ) Ltd. was established in 1972 to do schiffli embroidery work for the local whole-sale market that was mainly catering for the low end of the textiles segment. From the beginning, Hamedi enjoyed a good reputation for its fair dealings and commitment. With the result that it had already doubled its capacity by 1978. However, in the next two to three years the Russian invasion of Afghanistan and the Iran revolution affected the embroidery industry of Pakistan so adversely that a majority of the businesses went bankrupt, and the government was forced to declare embroidery Sick Industry of Pakistan. It was at this juncture that Hamedi changed its focus from the low end of the market and concentrated on making the best possible quality of embroidery for the premium urban consumer of Pakistan. The machines as well as the business culture were overhauled with this new end in mind, and in 1985 Hamedis sister concern, Sefam (Pvt. ) Limited, launched the new high quality product from the city of Lahore. The product was well received and soon the embroidery production capacity needed enhancement. Hamedi grew rapidly by acquiring some existing embroidery facilities as well as adding machines to its original setup. It was also the first in Pakistan to import the state of the art computerized schiffli machines and designing systems from Saurer Stick Systems of Switzerland. It was then decided by the management that the the different embroidery companies be merged into one company by the name of Ali Embroidery Mills (Pvt. ) Limited. In the relentless pursuit of quality and innovation, a number of Ali Embroiderys staff were sent to Switzerland to receive training in new designing methods, machine operating procedures, and quality control techniques. At the same time, many qualified experts from Korea and Switzerland are routinely engaged to come and do hands-on training of Alis technicians and designers at our premises.Consequently, Ali Embroidery Mills has the most well trained embroidery staff in Pakistan. This human resource combined with the many state of the art computerized machines, and designing and sampling systems has ensured that the quality of Alis product is by far the best in the country. . Today Ali has 30 schiffli machines, and is the largest manufacturer of embroidered fabric in Pakistan. More important than the number of machines is the fact that Ali has more goodwill than all the local competitors combined. This has been a result of Alis philosophy of fair dealings with everyone including suppliers, employees and clients. We believe that quality begins in-house when we decide to make a positive impact in the lives of all the different groups of people that will come in contact with our business.
